* The martinis mentioned in this blog were thought up especially by Dimi Lezinska for Grey Goose when the vodka brand associated itself with BAFTA, Oscars and Cannes film festival.
* Though they aren't martinis, some of them come close. Martinis, made with gin and vermouth and garnished with an olive, can more popularly have a vodka base instead of gin. While variations are many,a standard modern martini is an approx four to one ratio, made by combining apporx two ounces(or 55ml) of gin and approx half an ouce(or 15ml)of dry vermouth.
*Martini & Rossi created Martini Rosso dry vemouth in 1863. When the drink arrived in US a bartender may have mixed some gin with the Martini brand vermouth and simply called the drink a martini.
